FCRA is a central law administered by the Ministry of Home Affairs. There is no separate Delhi FCRA statute. This Delhi page exists because many societies, trusts, Section 8 companies and institutions operate from Delhi and need practical help assembling entity records, governance documents and filings on fcraonline.nic.in—not because Delhi creates different FCRA legal tests.

Draft for human regulatory review. Confirm current forms, fees and SBI designated-account instructions before relying on any summary.

National FCRA framework (applies in Delhi)

  • Registration (commonly FC-3A pathway): for eligible organisations meeting statutory conditions for receiving foreign contribution.
  • Prior permission (commonly FC-3B pathway): for receiving a specific foreign contribution without registration, where applicable.
  • Renewal: registration is time-bound; renew within the windows notified by MHA.
  • Annual returns (FC-4) and intimations: ongoing compliance, including changes intimated as required under the Act/Rules.
  • Designated FCRA bank account: foreign contribution must be received only in the account opened as per current MHA directions (SBI New Delhi Main Branch designated FCRA account framework as notified).

Why a Delhi page still helps

Delhi-based organisations often need local operational support around:

  1. Society/trust/Section 8 incorporation and Delhi registration records.
  2. Activity objects aligned to FCRA-permitted purposes.
  3. Board resolutions, key functionary KYC and audited statements for portal uploads.
  4. Coordination with the organisation’s Delhi registered office address proofs and bank mandate paperwork for the designated FCRA account.

Legal tests for foreign contribution remain national. Do not expect a “Delhi FCRA NOC” as a substitute for MHA permission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Delhi-specific FCRA law?

No. FCRA is central. Delhi pages help with local entity/document readiness for organisations based in Delhi.

What is the difference between FCRA registration and prior permission?

Registration authorises receiving foreign contribution on an ongoing basis subject to conditions. Prior permission is typically for a specific contribution without registration, where eligible. Confirm current MHA forms (commonly FC-3A vs FC-3B).

Where must the FCRA designated account be opened?

Under current MHA directions, foreign contribution is to be received in the designated FCRA account framework notified for SBI New Delhi Main Branch—verify the live instruction on FCRA Online/MHA before opening or changing accounts.
